Moreno Gistaín duo in the International Festival of Arts Diaghilev PS in St. Petersburg.
The Moreno Gistaín Duo will participate in November 2015 in this prestigious Festival that was created to continue the legacy of Diaghilev. This festival facilitates the exchange of ideas between Russia and the rest of the world. The program of the Moreno Gistaín duo is entitled "Ballets Russes, Spanish motives" and shows the fascinating presence of Spanish inspiration in the music of Diaghilev's company projects.

New transcription for two pianos of El Sombrero de Tres Picos de Falla.
Moreno Gistaín Duo presents its new two-piano transcription of the Suite # 2 from The Three-Cornered Hat by Manuel de Falla. This ballet was commissioned by Sergei Diaghilev for the Ballets Russes company and both the costumes and the sets were created by Pablo Picasso.

World premiere of Glazunov's Suite Raymonda in the transcription of Frédéric Meinders.
The Moreno Gistaín Duo will perform the premiere of this new version for two pianos created by pianist and composer Frederic Meinders in the International Diaghilev PS Ferstival of Arts in St. Petersburg.

New transcription for two pianos of Pavane Op. 50 by Gabriel Fauré.
The Pavane is one of the most famous works of Fauré. The Ballets Russes included it in several of his shows. In this piece the choreographer Massine saw a close relationship with Las Meninas by Velazquez, a painting that fascinated him.
This version of the Moreno Gistaín Duo will be premiered in the International Festival of Arts Diaguilev P.S.in St. Petersburg.
Panticosa International Festival 2015. Moreno Gistain Piano Duo in concert and Academy.
The Moreno Gistain Piano Duo will play and take part in the Academy of the Panticosa International Music Festival in the north of Spain from 26th July to 2nd of August. The Festival is this year in its third edition and it´s a rising star within musics festivals. The Moreno Gistain Piaano Duo will perform the proyect for two pianos "Play on BACH"on 1st August.

Juan Moreno Gistaín plays Chopin Piano Concerto n. 2.
Juan Moreno Gistain plays with Joven Orquesta Leonesa conducted by Francisco Valero-Terribas on 5th July at Leon Auditorium. The program of the concert presents Chopin Piano Concerto n.2, Beethoven Coriolano Oberture and Tchaikovsky Symphonie nº 2. The concert is part of the Proyect 2015 of young orchestra J.O.L.
Juan played Chopin Piano Concerto n. 1 in the same hall in the Festival "Reino de León", so this performance completes the two Chopin piano concertos.
XVII Summer Piano Course "City of Toledo"
This edition of Summer Piano Course "City of Toledo" will take place from 6th to 12th July. Juan will be guest teacher for the masterclasses and Jose is resident teacher of this meeting with young pianists. The pianists Ramon Coll, Nino Kereselidze, Alfonso Peciña and Sara Blazquez will be also teaching in this edition.

"Play on BACH" in Barbastro Congress and Exhibition Center.
Play on BACH is the exciting name of a new piece composed for Moreno Gistain Piano Duo by pianist and composer Gian Paolo Chiti, it will be also the name of the concert repertoire with pieces based on the B.A.C.H. motif.
The first concert with this new name and proyect will take place in Barbastro Congress and Exhibition Center, the city where the Moreno Gistain brothers were born, on 25th April 2015.
World premier of the two pianos transcription of "Go to Sleep" by Radiohead.
The Moreno Gistain Piano Duo performed their own two pianos transcriptionon the theme Go to Sleep originally composed by rock band Radiohead. The first performance of the piece took place at Fundación March in Madrid.
This song was published in the CD Hail to the Thief and the Bach motif is the basic element of the main riff and first melody. The two pianos version by Moreno Gistain Piano Duo has been created upon the original and the unplugged versions.
World premiere of "Play on B.A.C.H." by Gian Paolo Chiti.
The Moreno Gistain Piano Duo performed the world premiere of a new work for two pianos written by italian pianist and composer Gian Paolo Chiti. The premiere took place at Fundación March in Madrid.
Play on B.A.C.H. was composed for this concert and it´s dedicated to Moreno Gistain Piano Duo. The Bach motif is the starting point for a highly imaginative piece inspired in jazz music and music of Honky Tonk piano.
World premiere of Walzermasken III by Frédéric Meinders.
The Moreno Gistain Piano Duo performed the world premiere of a new work composed by pianist and composer Frédéric Meinders. The premiere took place at Fundación March in Madrid.
Walzermasken III was composed for this concert and it´s dedicated to Moreno Gistain Piano Duo. The piece is inspired in Walzermasken by Godowsky and Kreisler music and it´s a wonderful and surprising waltz using the Bach and Gade motifs.

A new project for the Saturday Concert Series at the Fundación March in Madrid. A fascinating itinerary through works composed using the motif formed by the letters from Bach's name in German notation.
Works for piano solo and two pianos revealing the huge creativity of different composers ranging from Gade to the band Radiohead, including several world and Spanish premieres. The concert will be broadcasted on Catalunya Musica Radio.
Second Academy of the Panticosa International Music Festival.
Juan Fernando has been invited again as guest professor in the Academy of the Panticosa International Music Festival.
The Academy of the Festival is running along with the concerts so there are a lot of meetings between young students and the artists of the festival not only during the masterclasses but also during the stay in this beautiful place.

Tribute to Antón García-Abril in the Panticosa International Music Festival.
The Moreno Gistain Piano Duo performs the work "Homenaje a Copernico" by spanish composer Antón García-Abril. This concert is the opening of the second edition of the Panticosa International Music Festival. .
The concert takes place on 31th July and Dúo Ánima, violinist Raquel Castro, and Duo Carmen Solís and Rubén Fernández Aguirre perform some of the most important works of the great composer.

XVI Piano Course "City of Toledo".
The Moreno Gistain Piano Duo has been invited to be teaching and giving masterclass at the XVI Piano Course City of Toledo.
The great pianist Ramon Coll, who has been one of the great influences of the Duo, is also the main teacher there this year, so this course is a fantastic opportunity for sharing experiences from different generations of pianists.

Juan Fernando Moreno Gistain and Gorka Hermosa presents a fascinating musical encounter in the Setmana Catalunya-Amèrica 2014 in Sitges. They perform a musical dialog that represents the dialog between the music from Catalonia and America.

A new video production to send everybody the best wishes for this year. The music of Franz Schubert is the starting point for a project made in cooperation with graphic designer Beatriz Gimeno. This video shows the imaginative relation between music score and the performance of the piece. The beautiful original handwritten music of BallettMusik nº 2 from Rosamunde is making a choreography on the performance made by Moreno Gistain Piano Duo at International Music Festival "Schubertiade" in Vilabertran. "En forme de variations" Recital at "Músicos del Mundo" Concert Series in Leon.
Jose Moreno Gistain plays in the Concert Series "Musicians from the world" that takes place on 16th December in Leon, promoted by Eutherpe Foundation.
The concert program named "En forme de variations" includes works by Schumann, Mompou, Granados, Part y Kapustin. This project explres the imagination of the composer through the transformation of the musical material. This idea is linked directly with the project Variations Diabelli by Beethoven presented by Juan recently.
This is a new project conceibed as a duo and performing piano solo music.
Live recording of "The Spring of the Century"
New live recording of the Moreno Gistain Piano Duo playing the recital that took place last july at the Panticosa International Music Festival. The recording of the concert is available through the website of AragonRadio2 for play in streaming or download. This program is a celebration of the centennial of Stravinsky´s The Rite of Spring and includes Gershwin´s Cuban Oberture and Ravel´s Rapsodie Espagnole
This concert was also the opening of the Panticosa International Music Festival.
Concert at Palau de la Música de Valencia with Eutherpe Camerata.
The Moreno Gistain Piano Duo will meet again with Camerata Eutherpe to play Concerto BWV 1060 for two pianos and orchestra by J. S. Bach. The concert will take place at Rodrigo Hall of the magnificient Palau de la Música de Valencia on 16th October.
The Camerata Eutherpe takes the name and inspiration from the Eutherpe Foundation.
[VIDEO] XV Great Soloist Concert Season at Zaragoza Auditorium.
BallettMusik concert program is fully available online on the Moreno Gistain YouTube Channel. The concert took place last september in the Symphonic Hall of the Zaragoza Auditorium.
The wonderful acoustic of this hall was a perfect partner for this program. BallettMusik is devoted to transcriptions for two pianos of orchestral music composed for ballets that have become pure concert music.

Academy of the Panticosa International Festival.
Juan is one of the guest teachers at the Academy of the Panticosa International Festival.
From July 29 to August 4 and along with the concerts, the performers of the concerts will give masterclass to young musicians and postgraduate performers.

The Moreno Gistain Piano Duo open this new festival on July 29 performing the program "The Spring of the Century".
The Panticosa International Festival will take place from July 29 to August 4 in the Aragonese Pyrenees. An immense beautiful environment to host a wonderful project that combines Concerts, Academy and Courses. The Cuarteto Casals, Garcia-Esteban Duo, Bagaria-Apellaniz Duo and Salduie Trio will be other groups of the festival.

"The Spring of the Centuty" in La Bisbal D´Emporda.
The Moreno Gistain Piano Duo perform the concert program devoted to the centenary of the premiere of The Rite of Spring by Igor Stravinsky. The Mundial Theatre is the hall where the concert takes place and this event is part of the regular concert season arranged by Joventuts Musicals de La Bisbal D´Empordà.
"The Spring of the Century". Intense celebration in Banyoles.
The Moreno Gistain Piano performs the two pianos version of "The Rite of Spring" by Igor Stravinsky and two other important works of Ballets Russes of Diaghilev, Polovtsian Dances by Borodin and Daphnis et Chloe by Ravel. This concert culminate an intense schedul of events organized by Jeunesses Musicales of Banyoles to commemorate the centenary of the premiere of the great "Rite of Spring".
This concert is the closing of a full week devoted to this work. Activities includes the projection of the fascinating film "Rhythm is it! and an exciting conference about The Rite by musicologist Rafael Esteve.
"The Spring of the Century" in Xarxa de Musiques of Catalonia.
On 10th march the Moreno Gistain Piano Duo presented a new project called "The Spring of the Century" in Torroella de Montgrí. This program is designed around Igor Stravinsky´s "The Rite of spring" in the original version for piano duo.
The name of this project makes two references to the celebration of the Centenary of the premiere and also to the extraordinary creative fertility of the first decades of the last century, an exiciting age when lots of ideas flourish to revolutionize the history of music.
Bach Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra.
The Young International Masters Concert Seasons that takes place at the Auditorio of Leon starts this year with the complete works for two pianos and strings by Bach. The Moreno Gistain Piano Duo will perform Concerto in C Minor BWV 1060.

Beethoven First Piano Concerto with Orquesta Opus 23 in Madrid.
Jose Moreno Gistaín performs the First Piano Concerto for Piano and Orchestra by Beethoven on 13th December at Auditorio Nacional in Madrid. The concert is part of the concert season of Orquesta Opus 23 conducted by Andrés Salado, the Artistic Director and Main Conductor of the Orchestra.

"Welcome to the 20th Century" in Huesca Piano Concert Series.
Moreno Gistain Piano Duo offered the concert for piano four hands "Welcome to the 20th Century", a recital devoted to the exciting first decades of the last century.
Gershwin´s Cuban Oberture, Ravel´s Rapsodie Espagnole and Stravinsky´s Petrouchka were in this concert the works of the program. It´s possible to hear some works through the AUDIO SITE.
The next season "Wtt20C" will include one of the most relevant pieces of the century, Stravinsky´s The Rite of Spring.

BalletMusik program in the closure of the "Festival de la Ribagorza"
The Moreno Gistain Piano Duo will offer the closing concert of the Festival, they will be presenting their new program named BalletMusik, dedicated to exciting music for stage ballet for two pianos. The concert will take place on Sunday 26 August, including works by Borodin, Ravel, Prokofiev and Brubeck.

Beethoven Triple Concerto with The World Orchestra
Juan Fernando Moreno Gistaín will perform the Beethoven´s Triple Concerto for violin, Cello and Piano at the 51th Festival in Pollença, in Majorca on August 25. The program "Auditoris" on Catalunya Music Radio broadcasted last january the concert gived by Juan F. Moreno Gistain performing at the Barcelona Auditori, the concert was part of the Jeunesses Musicales Concert Season.

"The Music of Ballets Russes" in Caixaforum
he Moreno Gistain Piano Duo offer a concert tour dedicated to the music of the Ballets Russes on the ocasion of the eshibition “Diaghilev´s Ballets Russes, when the Art Dance with the Music” held in Barcelona. The concert tour was arranged in several venues of Caixaforum, a most relevant network of Cultural Centers.
The program brings to life the fascinate evenings in which the Diaghilev circle of artist listened the “premieres” of some of the emblematic works of the Ballets Russes.
“Spanish Inspiration” concert in Casablanca
The Moreno Gistain Piano Duo traveled last november to Casablanca to perform the project Spanish Inspiararion. The concert was held by the Spanish Institute and two concerts for students preceded the event.
Spanish Inspiration is an example of the relevance and enrichment between cultures, it´s shown through the influence that the rhythms, melodies and evocations of Spanish music have had in composers from different countries.
“Soviet Music.” Concert at Fundacion Juan March.
On the occasion of the exhibition "Alexander Deineka. A Vanguard for the Proletariat" the Moreno Gistain Duo gave a concert of Soviet music as opening of the exhibition.
The program included works for two pianos by Kachaturian, Shostakovich and Prokofiev composed in the same creative period that includes the exhibition.
Schubert recital at the Festival "Schubertíada a Vilabertran".
The Moreno Gistain Piano Duo offered last September two of the finest works of the composer Franz Schubert, the concert took place at the International Festival "Schubertíada a Vilabertran" which brings annually outstanding performers of the work of the Austrian composer..
The program was recorded and broadcasted by Radio Catalunya and included the Fantasy and Sonata "Grand Duo" for piano four hands.
Presentation of the "Variations" project.
Jose E. presented a program entitled "Variations," exploring the genre of the variation through the work of five composers. The recital took place at the Museum of the Roman Forum in Saragossa.
On the idea of the transformation in music, different worlds arise in works by Schumann, Mompou, Granados, Pärt and Kapustin.
